I've had tho...Dear Jenny,

My heart goes out to you. I've had those types of experiences in my life as well. Unfortunaly, evil is all around of us and we have to keep our wits about us and remember to pray. I know that God wants us to put all into his hands but I also believe He wants us to be smart. There are nights I wake up and this old house creaks and pops and I am sure someone is out there trying to get in . . . other times I roll over and go back to sleep. So continue to keep your doors and windows locked, double checking even when we think we are bein silly - it makes us feel better. Find comfort in knowing you that you have someone who loves you and would do anything and everything to keep you safe.

Let me know when you are coming out to meet our newest little angel. We could have coffee, help Beccy and catch up.

Hello and my love to Aaron

Love you much Miss Jenny, Joangrannyjhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03756842766371656780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8910458759697231949.post-3855209166118986002009-02-13T21:28:00.000-05:002009-02-13T21:28:00.000-05:00Hey Jenn...How about some pics of your decorated h...Hey Jenn...

How about some pics of your decorated house...can't wait to see!!Dacia Gordonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17907093009341975425noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8910458759697231949.post-2510698141721877112009-02-13T21:26:00.000-05:002009-02-13T21:26:00.000-05:00Jen:God calls us to trust AND to use common sense....Jen:

God calls us to trust AND to use common sense. The Holy Spirit nudges us at interesting times and we need to listen and sometimes act. It's not always easy to know when we cross that line into obsessive worry. I will pray for discernment for you and for protection. I need help with that every single day.

It sounds like you learned a lot from each experience.

I love you and Aaron so much!

XXXOOO, MomDacia Gordonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17907093009341975425noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8910458759697231949.post-88262949706442484262009-02-13T19:04:00.000-05:002009-02-13T19:04:00.000-05:00Girl I hope you carry pepper spray! Seriously though, get some.

I understand your dilemma between knowing God is protecting you and still being afraid. I actually feel that same way right now with illness. I am so freaking afraid of getting sick it's bordering on unhealthy. I pray that God keeps me safe, and I tell Him I trust him, but my non stop worrying says otherwise. It's a constant struggle. You'll be in my prayers.

PS. I'll get back to you on Facebook soon!Marihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05202988604543586343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8910458759697231949.post-72732811007130902192009-02-13T18:41:00.000-05:002009-02-13T18:41:00.000-05:00Thanks for the advice, Meghan. There is an element as Christians where we say, "God is always with us", but we do live in a very scary world (esp. as women...men just don't understand sometimes...) and it would be so irresponsible to not take proper measures to ensure that we are aware of our surroundings. I'm thankful that i've been exposed to a "world" I never knew growing up, but it sure freaks me out at times! I like your idea of the door alarm. My husband is so handy, i'll have him install it! I did demand that we put an extra lock on our front door, too...which is good.

I know your career brings many women into your path who have gone through some terrible experiences. It just makes me care all the more about the dangers and fears that women face.

Thanks for your thoughts. As always, I appreciate them!Aaron and Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08073519720164483225noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8910458759697231949.post-11004904797894762702009-02-13T12:28:00.000-05:002009-02-13T12:28:00.000-05:00Jenny,Honestly... I know you mentioned your bible study group confronting your fears, but we, especially as women, live in a world that just isn't very safe.

I put this cheesy doorstop alarm under my front door when I go to sleep and I have NO regrets/guilt about it, because let's be honest... bad stuff happens.

This isn't meant to be a "be afraid, be very afraid" comment, but to say "God will protect me, I shouldn't have fears" doesn't hold up in life... we see it all the time. People who are "protected" are also harmed. We don't live in a safe bubble because we're Christians and you have actually had a number of very frightening experiences.

All this to say... Your fears/concerns/nervousness seems really valid and healthy based on your experiences and although we of course always hope for safety and protection, you are exactly right... get those freaking doors fixed... and get a door stop alarm if you're anything like me :)

Be safe!Meghanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01547446520119548409noreply@blogger.com
